Neuromancer Movie
Have you read Neuromancer? It's a cult science-fiction novel written by William Gibson and first published in 1984. The novel is credited with popularizing the cyberpunk genre. The story revolves around a hacker for hire in the dystopian future city of Chiba City, Japan. Well, William Gibson's Neuromancer is going to be adapted into a live action movie!
Back in 2007 a $70 million budget was announced for a movie adaptation of Neuromancer and Joseph Khan was set to direct, unfortunately the project fell in limbo somehow. But we just learned thanks to the Hollywood Reporter that Splice director Vincenzo Natali has apparently taken over the reins of the project. So there's hope for production to start sooner than later for the movie Neuromancer.
Plot:
"Neuromancer tells the story of Case, an out-of-work computer hacker hired by an unknown patron to participate in a seemingly impossible crime. The novel examines the concepts of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, genetic engineering, multinational corporations overpowering the traditional nation-state, and cyberspace long before these ideas became fashionable in popular culture."
More details about this upcoming Neuromancer movie should leak online quite soon, so stay connected with us!
Update - It has been officially confirmed that Vincenzo Natali will direct the upcoming Neuromancer movie:
Let's hope that Vincenzo Natali will soon start working on the Neuromancer movie then!
